When you visit our pages, we store your IP address, browser (user agent) and access time together with a log ID (shown in the page footer) for security reasons. This data is used exclusively to prevent and trace attacks, is stored on our own servers in Switzerland and is not passed on to third parties. If you reach our pages via an advertisement or campaign link, we additionally record the campaign identifier from the link address (e.g. utm_source, gclid) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising — likewise only on our own servers, without additional cookies and without reporting back to the advertising provider.
Questions to Coaty are processed server-side and transmitted for answering to an AI interface with data residency in the EU — normally the Azure OpenAI Service from Microsoft (EU data zone), and as a fallback our European partner OVHcloud (data centres in the EU) once a visitor’s daily quota is used up. We send only the chat content and our product context, never your IP address or contact details. For quality assurance and abuse prevention we log the time, IP address and the beginning of the question on our own servers. Please do not enter any personal data in the chat. If you request a callback via the chat, we transmit your contact details together with the chat history by e-mail to our product specialists (for existing customers with a copy to your account manager) and store the request in our CRM for processing — within our company, not to third parties. The switch “Save chat history to help improve the product” below the input field is enabled by default: while it is on, we additionally log your chat questions and Coaty’s answers in full — anonymously (no IP address, grouped only by a random session identifier), solely to improve Coaty. You can turn it off at any time directly in the chat; this logging then stops, and your choice is stored in your browser for future visits. If you request technical data sheets in the chat, we send you the documents by e-mail and store your e-mail address, the requested products and the conversation so that our product specialists can follow up — as stated in the request form itself. The download links are personal and valid for 14 days.
We use a single functional cookie (“coaty_lang”, 12 months) that stores your language choice. There is no tracking, no analytics and no advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time.
We currently use Google Fonts to display our typefaces; in doing so, your IP address is transmitted to Google (including to the USA). We are working on replacing this service with a locally hosted alternative. The contact page embeds a map from OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation, United Kingdom; servers in Europe) — when the map loads, your IP address is transmitted to OpenStreetMap. For the Coaty chat we use AI interfaces with data residency in the EU: the Azure OpenAI Service from Microsoft (EU data zone) and, as a fallback, OVHcloud (see the Coaty chat section). In the footer and on the contact page we link to WhatsApp Business as a contact channel. The link itself loads nothing from WhatsApp and transmits no data; only once you click it and write to us there are your phone number and the content of your message processed by WhatsApp (Meta), with possible transfer to the USA — WhatsApp’s privacy terms then apply. If you would rather not use it, you can reach us by phone or e-mail as before. We use no other third-party services.
You have the right to access, rectify and delete your data (Art. 25 ff. of the Swiss FADP). Contact us by e-mail at info@springchemtrading.com, quoting the log ID.
