Mineral substrates absorb water — and with the water come salts, frost damage, efflorescence and algae. A water repellent reduces capillary water uptake without forming a closed film: the component stays permeable to water vapour and can continue to dry out. That is precisely what distinguishes it from a coating — and why it is the means of choice wherever a structure needs protecting without being sealed in.
Alongside the water-repellent treatments, the range covers further construction-chemical specialities for mineral systems and surface protection. Durability is decided by what happens inside the substrate: penetration depth, alkali resistance on young concrete and the weather during application. Fluorine-free technologies are available. One point of scope: from Rudolf we look after construction chemicals only — textile chemistry and paint additives are not part of our range.
