Glass is an extremely smooth, non-porous substrate: without the right binder base, no coating survives daily use — from the decoratively coated flacon and the satin-finished bottle to protective coatings against scratches and shattering. What is needed is adhesion without mechanical anchoring, flexibility against impact and, depending on the application, resistance to washing cycles and humidity.
