Thermoset systems are processed liquid and cure irreversibly — every trapped air bubble, every poorly wetted fibre bundle stays in the part forever. In SMC/BMC moulding compounds, high filler loads must be dispersed and viscosity kept under control; in GRP laminates fast air release counts, and with UP resins additionally the styrene emission at the workplace.
